SMART money and other outside scholarships are 100% stackable on top of any Lindenwood grants you may be receiving. You just can't "cash in" more scholarship money than you owe and get a refund. If you send in more scholarship money than is owed in a semester, then it will screw things up and you could lose LU grant, so just make sure you don't overdo it. In order to use SMART money, you need to log into your USBC SMART account and request funds be sent to Lindenwood. It will automatically be applied to any outstanding balance for school related things. You can use SMART and outside scholarship funds specifically for books, but usually only after all other balances are paid. The scholarship would have to be sent to Lindenwood with a specific designation for books and you would receive a book voucher.
