For future reference, Phil's office on campus has moved to 214 Hyland Arena.  It's the main floor level way down the hall on the right in the athletic offices.

If you're wanting to send SMART money specifically designated for books, DO NOT send through SMART's automatic system.  It will arrive without the books designation and wreak havoc on your financial package.  We're trying to come up with a solution to this problem, so stay tuned.

For those needing a physical when they arrive on campus, the designated date for bowling is Monday, August 26th, but they have now specified a two hour window of time from 2-4pm that day.  There will be a line, so try to allow as much time as possible to get through the process.  Don't show up at 350pm and expect to be done in 10 minutes.

Also, EVERYONE will need to meet with our designated athletic trainer Sarah Lohse to go over paperwork and be officially cleared for athletics.  For those here last year, it's the same process we went through before.  If everything is in order, it won't take but a few minutes.  Officially, no one is allowed to practice or tryout or compete without taking care of this step.  Sarah should be available for these meetings during our physical time.

Attendance at our annual team meeting is mandatory unless you have class or some other VERY GOOD EXCUSE.  If you have a class conflict, but can still make at least 20 minutes, please stop by during the meeting time.

I will send an order for our new shirt (see separate thread) on August 31st, and then again after tryouts are over.  We will begin collecting the $55 shirt fee and the $50 tryout fee from everyone wanting to tryout at the meeting (checks and cash only).  If you definitely want the new shirt in time for our first tournament, you will designate that you want it ordered immediately.  If you want to wait until after tryouts to decide, you can, but the shirt won't arrive until the end of October/first part of November.  If you plan to pay your tryout and shirt fee via credit card, you'll have to do so at the bowling center.

I will have shirt samples at the team meeting for everyone to try on to determine their best size.

I have a class on Mondays that's 4:25 - 6:55, so I will not be able to attend the meeting.

Our meeting begins at 415pm (1615).  No one will be able to practice after 4pm that Monday.

Instructions for designating SMART funds for books (as of August 21, 2013)

On the funds request page, when you enter your student ID number, add a dash and note for BOOKS.

If you are requesting funds for tuition, room and board as part of what was set up through your financial package, but also need to send money for books, DO NOT submit requests together at the same time.  Make two separate requests and make sure they are separated by at least TWO business days so the amounts will not be sent on the same check.

Reminders

All of your medical information (physical, proof of insurance, etc.) needs to be turned in to Sarah Lohse (slohse@lindenwood.edu) at the Field House, office 116.  You're not supposed to practice, tryout or compete until this is done.

If you want to get our new shirt regardless, and have it arrive by the first tournament in early October, you must give your tryout/shirt fee to Randy at the bowl by Friday, August 30 and make sure you note that you want the shirt early!  Otherwise, all tryout/shirt fees are due by the first day of tryouts, September 14.  It would be better to take care of this up front as opposed to waiting until the day of tryouts if at all possible.

If you choose not to order your shirt early, you will have the option after tryouts are over to get your shirt fee refunded, but if you go ahead and order the new shirt, it won't arrive until early November.

If you missed the big team meeting on 8/26, please stop by my office (Hyland 214) and complete all the necessary paperwork for the team.  This MUST be done by Thursday, September 5th.  Text ahead to make sure I'm there.

If you have not received your Lindenwood Bowling Team CD, you may come by my office (Hyland 214) and pick it up.  Text ahead to make sure I'm there.

TODAY (August 30) is the last day to get your shirt money ($55) to Randy IF you want to have our new shirt by our first tournament in early October.  Otherwise, you can just get it turned in before tryouts begin.
