As you might know, about a year ago the decision was made to try to get the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships and USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships on television.
I am excited to share with you the fact that this is very close to being finalized.
Once it is completely finalized, we expect to have four TV shows from the events. We will broadcast the ITC finals and the semifinals and finals of the ISC. The format for the TV show of the ISC still is being finalized, but the ITC will still be a single-elimination best two-out-of-three Baker match between the two bracket champions in each division.
As a result of this exciting announcement, we had to end all qualifying on Friday night. Because of this, a few minor changes were made to the tournament schedule. The schedule will now be as follows:
Monday - ISC participants arrive
Tuesday - ISC (one-day tournament) with six games of qualifying followed by single-elimination match play (three games, total pins)
Wednesday - Team arrival and Night of Champions Banquet
Thursday - 24 Baker games, break, then Rounds 1 and 2 of match play (best of 7)
Friday - Rounds 3 and 4 (best of 7), re-oil, then Rounds 5, 6 and 7 (best of 7)
