The annual USBC Intercollegiate Singles Qualifier is Friday, March 9th at the four different Sectional sights: Fairview Heights, Illinois; Smyrna, Tennessee; Euless, Texas; and Allentown, Pennsylvania. Finish in the top at one of the locations and you advance to the Intercollegiate Singles Championship.
The school has paid for your entry to this tournament in the past. You can bowl at any one of the four sites, but you're probably going to be responsible for transportation there and back, although if you bowl in Fairview Heights, I might be able to get something arranged.
If you would like to bowl, I need to know by no later than Friday, January 20th in order to submit the request to the school. Please note your interest on the forum or to me directly via e-mail.
Thank you!
A bit more info about the Qualifier: Four sectional qualifiers will be held March 9 with the top four men and top four women at each site plus eight mens wildcards advancing to the national tournament. As part of ISC qualifying, North Pointe Junior Gold Championships qualifiers will be part of the event. The entry fee is $25 and one in eight (1:8) will advance. Entrants into the North Pointe Junior Gold Qualifier must be a Standard Youth Member and hold Junior Gold Membership prior to bowling.
In addition, to the Junior Gold Qualifier we will also award the women's champion a free entry into the 2013 USBC Queens and the men's champion a free entry into the USBC Masters.
The school should cover your basic entry, but will not cover the Junior Gold entry if you want to do that.

*There comes a moment when it's more than just a game, and you either take that step forward or turn around and walk away. I could quit, but here's the thing...I love the playing field.*
Hey Phil, I use to be a director for USBC here on LI and I just received this email about the singles qualifer. Just thought you would like to see it and know.
2012 INTERCOLLEGIATE SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIPS MOVES TO NEBRASKA WITH NEW FORMAT
ARLINGTON, Texas The 2012 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Singles Championships will have a new format and be held in conjunction with USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln, Neb. The singles event will take place April 17; team competition begins April 19.
The new one-day format will consist of six games of qualifying followed by head-to-head match play. The match-play portion will feature three-game total pinfall matches.
We are excited to be marrying the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships with the singles championship, International Bowling Campus Collegiate Manager Gary Brown said. This change will add more energy and exposure to the singles championships as many of the fans and media attending the team championships will now see both events.
Qualifying for the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships takes place through one of the four sectional qualifiers. Bowlers at each sectional location bowl six games of qualifying and a total of 24 men and 16 women will advance. At each sectional, the top four men and top four women advance; the additional eight mens spots will be based on the size of the field at each location.
Airfare, hotel, transportation and meals for each national finalist is paid for by USBC. The mens and womens USBC Intercollegiate Singles champions will also receive a paid entry into the USBC Masters and Queens respectively.
USBC will provide live video coverage of the ITC and ISC on BOWL.com.
About International Bowling Campus The International Bowling Campus (IBC) is the headquarters for the bowling industry and directly serves the more than 71 million bowlers in the United States. The IBC houses the resources of the United States Bowling Congress, the governing body and membership organization for the sport; the Bowling Proprietors Association of America, representing the business interests of bowling centers; Strike Ten Entertainment, the marketing arm for the industry; the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame; The Bowling Foundation; the International Bowling Pro Shop and Instructors Association; the Bowling Writers Association of America; the Bowling News Network; the Billiard and Bowling Institute of America; and the International Training and Research Center.
I actually posted this release in another thread not long after it was released. Interesting stuff about having it the same week and just two days before the start of the team championship. I like that it's together, but not sure I like the short span between the ISC and ITC.
Here is the list of entrants that I have so far. If you are not listed and want to be, let me know via e-mail or by posting on this forum by January 20th. Thanks!
