10. FORMAT
a) The NCTMG will be a total pins tournament, including bonus pins, to determine a champion. The tournament will consist of two days of competition. Day 1 will consist of 6 team games, scheduled match-play. Day 2 will consist of 4 matches; three scheduled team game matches and one position round. The top 8 Mens and Womens teams will advance and play in a 3 game match play round. Scores will carry over from the match play round. Team lane assignments will be made according to a schedule prepared in advance, using team numbers for all games except for the position round games.
We are guaranteed one men's and one women's team, but have potential to receive another men's and/or women's team entry if they need a team to fill spots to a multiple of four. However, we won't know for sure until later this week or as late as early next week.
In case you didn't catch it, Match Games is reverting back to the "old school" format. Every team will bowl 10 team match games, then the top eight will bowl another three team match games to determine the champion. No baker.
It'll be about 6pm when the top eight teams complete play Saturday.
I have two packer vans and a cargo reserved for this tournament.
Men's van and cargo have to leave from the bowling center by 730am Friday morning.
Women's van by 8am. Cargo will travel to men's center and then women's center with equipment, so stack stuff accordingly. Need to have one men's and one women's driver available.
If you travel on your own, I need the travel form by Tuesday prior to the tournament.
I need to know who is riding vans and who is going on their own. If you're going on your own, travel form, travel form, travel form on your CD. Thanks!
Be at the bowl 30 minutes before practice. Note that the guys start earlier than the girls at different centers. This is a tier one, so allow time to complete the ball card. Five balls max.
Yes, Mom can ride along.

For those of you traveling to this tournament, don't forget that Friday is Black Friday. In order to get to the boys center, and depending on the route you take to get to the girls center, you have to drive through Fairview Heights, which is a huge shopping area due to the fact that there is a mall (along with a million stores around the mall) there. Be prepared for lots and lots of shopping traffic and allow extra time because the last time I drove through, there was also construction slowing things down.
OK, format changed again. Just realized I received this email.
Patterns:
Women: 37 feet; 2.3:1
Men: 38 feet, 2.25:1
The tournament directors did make a format change to tournament. The major reason for the change was the timing of the second day. First change is that the position round will be eliminated and teams will qualify with the 9 games of team matches (keeping all tier 1 qualifications). The top 8 teams by score will advance to match play. Match play will be three rounds of two game Baker Matches. Teams will be seeded and play three scheduled matches. Teams will receive bonus pins for winning games and matches. A sheet will be provided at the check-in area for the coaches. This will help tournament operations, meet center needs and gain time for the event. More details will be explained at the coaches meeting on Friday.
