this could work out to be cool if a handful ppl do this:

1. for all those who have "AIM 'AOL Instant Messenger'" you might never have noticed a really nifty feature on it. It's called "GET FILE."
ex - Next time I'm online, Right Click on my screen name (BeardedxHate) on your buddylist window & scroll down till you see the option "GET FILE."
then I'll have to approve you (only once) & youll be able to grab & download any mp3s I have on my computer. It's perfectly safe p2p (peer 2 peer) file sharing.

2. You can use this feature to share any type of files you wish. Im just using mp3s as an example because that is what most ppl share over the web (besides Shadow)...

Here is the least complicated way to do this. So if you are internet literate & you know where everything is on your computer... ignore all this... otherwise heres what you'll need to do:

A. Create a new folder on your desktop: right click anywhere on the desktop & select 'New' > then 'New Folder' > then title it music or mp3s or whatever you like.

B. Move your mp3 files to your desktop: If you could organzie your files into seperate folders by the artists names or style of music, that would make digging through files a whole lot easier. (look at mine for examples)

C. Next, when you are looking at your buddylist window, at the top click 'MY AIM' > then click 'EDIT OPTIONS' > then click 'EDIT PREFERENCES' on the screen that pops up there will be a menu on the left... scroll down till you see 'FILE SHARING' & highlight it. Next at the top where it says 'SHARED FILE LOCATION' click browse > then on the screen that pops up, follow your "DESKTOP" line down the page until you find the folder that you stored all your files in, highlight that folder & click OK.

D. Next under the 'FILE ACCESS' option heres what I have selected:
For users on my buddylist: ALLOW
For users not on my byddylist: DISPLAY APPROVE DIALOGUE

E. Click 'APPLY' and you are done.

I know it seems like a lot, but it really isnt. Shouldnt take you longer than 5 minutes to set this up, and thats only if youre moving your music files to your desktop so you know where they are.

If anyone else does this, make a post on here with your screen name so we can all add eachother & steal eachothers music.

I have around 1,000 mp3s (constantly adding more) and they are all shared under my 'GET FILE' option

So if anyone needs help, let me know & i will work you through it.
