Student Athlete recognition-January 28th, 2010


The school is recognizing the accomplishments and achievements of the athletic programs and student-athletes at the women's and men's basketball games this Thursday, January 28th.

Each sport is asked to attend in team attire and be present at the PA by 6pm. 

*A FLAT SCREEN TV WILL BE GIVEN AWAY PRIOR TO THE TIP-OFF OF THE MENS GAME AND NEAR THE END OF THE MENS GAME. ONLY LINDENWOOD STUDENTS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE DRAWING. DRAWINGS WILL BE BASED UPON MATCHING NUMBERS IDENTIFIED ON THE WINING GAME TICKET STUB. YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO RECEIVE THE FLAT SCREEN.



A few important reminders regarding Thursdays event:

1.       Please have your teams in attendance by 6 p.m. in team attire. 

2.       Recognition for those achieving a 3.0 term and cumulative g.p.a. (nearly 600 athletes) will take place at  half-time of the womens game. Those student-athletes with a 3.3 term and cumulative g.p.a. along with a min. attendance of two semesters at LU (highlighted in gold on the attached form 150 athletes) will come to center court and receive a gift from Dr. John Oldani, John Creer, David Arns, Rick Gorzynski, or Rene Raisbeck. Please remain on the court until all individuals have been announced.

a.       Please have these 150 report to the far end of the court at the two minute mark of the 1st half of the womens game. We will put them in alphabetical order by sport.

 

3.       National Team Recognitions will take place prior to the mens game. Please have staff along with team captains or designated players report to the far end of the court at the two minute mark of the 2nd half of the womens game. All other team members will be asked to stand as the representatives are announced.

The following bowlers will be recognized, if in attendance.  If you are going to be there, let me know by 5pm today (1/26/2010).  Otherwise, you won't be announced.  Those highlighted by **** will go to center court to receive a gift, if in attendance.    Sorry for the short notice...Oh...if you have a night class, sorry...you can't skip it for this.  Phil

In my haste yesterday, I misread an e-mail.  They were just wanting confirmation of names for a program listing.  Anyone that wants to go to the game (s) and represent the bowling program, please do...in your shirt, probably the black one.

I'll provide further updates if I find out anything more...
