well just to let everyone know......i was coming home from work tonight.....and approx 8 blocks from my house at the corners of Sanders & Pittston ...a 70 yr old man driving a buick or a lincoln of some type doing atleast 30-35mph blew a stop sign....proceeded to crash into my right front end...spinning me diagnally into the other lane until i finally plowed into a telephone phone.
first and formost....im ok. i dont think im injured. just a little shook up. so yeah...im ok in that aspect.
and like i said....it was the guys fault, he even admitted fault...so there wasnt any problems.
however my car is pretty much totalled...the front end anyway. im gonna take pictures of it tomorrow morning and ill have them posted.
now heres where the **** hits the fan......his insurance has to decide if my car is "totalled or not" to see what im awarded. hopefully ill be awarded a new car because i honestly think my front end is beyond repair. but i guess we'll see.
however....if somehow the insurance, being the sneaky ppl that they are, find away around this and barely award me ****....my time at lindenwood will be cut short until further notice. because for one....i wont have a vehicle ....i cant just take my fathers...and i cant have my family bend over backwards for me and expect them to buy me a car or pitch in on my somehow "salvagable" totalled car if that becomes the case...cause well my family isnt exactly wealthy. i cant burden them like that.....im 23....if i need to work to get somethin...then im pretty much gonna get my ass to work. school will simply have to wait.
so i will keep everyone updated....the police report should be in on monday or tuesday...and ill get a full report/documents etc. hopefully by then the insurance will give me some sort of a clue as to what is going to happen as well.
so yeah just thought i should tell everyone....and for the record...im ok (again) ...im lucky and im greatful....cause well if you saw my wreck....i probably should have a broken leg or neck injury. so yeah..im lucky. anyway i think im going to end my rant. and im sorry if i mispelled anything...im not a ****ing poet at the moment.

FJ if they try to leave you hanging with nothing don't let them get away with it fight back with them and you will get want u want.... trust me my brothers have been in a lot of accidents and we have always got want we wanted!

Chase, we all feel for you. To finish what Susie said, if you think they are dragging their heels or dicking you over, report them to your state insurance board. They will move to sastify you trust me! Also if you need a ride to get here i am sure some of us could road trip to get/kidnap you!
Sorry to hear about the crash... Glad you're OK... Car situations are never fun... In fact, I'm still trying to deal with what happened to my car on the way to meet the bus for the Leatherneck...
Be patient, but vigilant in dealing with the insurance companies... Don't sign anything until you're sure!
FWIW, my wife says (and she has dealt with this many times) that you are in like flint. They will either total your car or pay all damages, cause it is the law. Just don't let them dick you around and remember, if they refuse to deal with a college student get your dad to make a call. Swallow your pride and let the 'adult' take over. (i had to do this after i was married and we needed to break a lease. They would not talk to us cause we were 'students' problem was we weren't. I let my dad call them and we were done in 5 min.)
