I agree with Council.....sucks to see a place go to trash like that. I plan to get that racing game asap btw. What I hate is when they take a place that was important to you growing up and they put up something completely new, I think its worse than seeing a special place looking in bad shape.

Yeah...kinda like when Lindenwood bought the drive-in theater and tore it down...  I had many memorable moments there.

I put some pictures up.

1. From the Warped Tour

2. Pictures from Penn-Can Speedway (some really good photos)

A little history lesson about Penn-Can Speedway:
It's called Penn-Can Speedway because before the interstate was named I-81... the stretch of road from I-80/I-81 Interchange all the way up to the Canadian border was called The Penn-Can Highway. Penn-Can Speedway is in Susquehanna, PA (about 35/40 miles north of Scranton.. & only an exit or two from the NY State Border)

Anyway in the Penn-Can pics I have pictures of Modifieds, Late Models, & URC Sprints (which were incredible btw... they are a racing tour who travel track to track... so they're not regulars at Penn-Can)... The URC Sprints spit out nearly 800hp (horsepower)... Penn-Can, an oval, which is a little bit bigger than a half-mile... The Sprints were reaching 90mph easilly on the straights. They ran 2 features... a female driver won the first feature. It was pretty amazing to watch.

For those unfamiliar with Sprints... Sprints don't have a starter. The only things the driver has is a steering wheel, a clutch, & 2 pedals. Why dont they have a starter? As ridiculous as this may sound, its to reduce weight. They require a push start & then the car starts in gear. Modifieds, typically the fastest vehicle to race on dirt weigh around 3300lbs... Sprints on the other hand might weigh only 1600lbs... so I hope that gives you an idea just how freakin fast those things can actually go if the proper room is given.

Anyway... sry for the overly detailed nonsense that 2 of you may care about picspicspics

Sprint cars are amazing......I worked in the pits for a guy one time at the track in Farmington and that was one of the best times I've had doing something outside of bowling......maybe even moreso.

I need to get going back to the races. It's been awhile

chase, go to nbc, drug every sorry ass POS they have doing their nascar telecasts, and cover them yourself.  I guarantee yours will be better as long as you break into commercials to show race snippets once in a while and maybe show someone other than the leader for a couple laps.

and if something should happen that the 6th place finisher suddenly is given 31st and the only way a preson can find out is by checking their fantasy team, the broadcast might ought to explain that too.

Its kinda funny how you havent been involved in a certain lifestyle for some time (like 12 years) & then start going back to it & realize how much you missed it. Thats what I'm going through right now. I even expressed interest in getting my own PureStock cause theyre cheap (assuming I get a job this century) & race a little myself. My dad & a couple guys at the bar already said theyd back me haha. but I have to get the car, the trailer, the truck, etc all myself. So maybe one day.

But I'm not too big on Nascar. I like the shorter Nascar tracks cause theres more action... otherwise I'm not much of a fan. I also think the road courses suck. But i do think Jimmy Spencer should be miked at all times.

Speaking of Nascar, Kenny Shrader (sp?) raced modifieds here last Wednesday at Five Mile Point.

I also know Tony Stewart owns a Late Model or two & runs them at dirt tracks when he gets a chance.
