I received word earlier today that preliminary schedules for 2016-17 need to be submitted by May 31, so that gives us less than two weeks to figure things out. Our budget has to be exactly the same as it was this past season, so adding a trip to Las Vegas won't fly. I would like to possibly take a tournament off the calendar in the fall and add one in the spring, but I don't know if that's feasible with the Hoosier moving back to the second weekend of February. So, perhaps just incorporate a break so we're not going nine weekends straight...

January 14-15: Hoinke Bearcat ---THIS TOURNAMENT ACTUALLY FELL ON JANUARY 7-8 January 21-22: Kegel Collegiate (tier 1) January 28-29: McKendree Baker THIS TOURNAMENT WAS MOVED TO FEBRUARY 4-5 February 4-5: Eagle Classic/Norse Classic (SUPERBOWL weekend for what it's worth) CAN'T GO TO THIS ONE BECAUSE THE MCKENDREE BAKER WAS MOVED TO THIS DATE February 11-12: Hoosier

Are you suggesting to just take that weekend off or bowl something else? Those two tournaments have the most teams of any in February (aside from the Hoosier) that are also within driving range. I'm open for suggestions...
My original thought was to take a tournament out of the fall and ADD one to the spring, plus the suggested off weekend happens to be Homecoming, the weekend before we host our tournament, and the deleted tournament was the one at which several of our players were hurt due to approach issues, but the way the calendar is set up this season, I don't think there will be ANY extra weekends in the spring this year, so there may not be a choice. I'm not a fan of bowling the weekend prior to finals either, but threw it out there for discussion.
