The 2016 USBC Intercollegiate Singles Qualifier is Friday, March 11 at four different locations: 30 Strikes in Stratford, NJ; Suncoast Casino in Las Vegas; Stardust Bowl in Addison (Chicago), IL; and Smyrna Bowl in Smyrna, TN (outside Nashville).
In the past, the school has covered the entry fee for anyone in the bowling program (on the travel roster or not) as long as the person was eligible at the time of entry submission. Each bowler gets four years of eligibility to bowl the singles qualifier that is completely separate from team eligibility.
If you wish to bowl the singles qualifier, I need to know by Friday, January 15, along with your preferred location of the four. In the past couple years, extra players have been allowed to ride the team bus (if that was our mode of transportation) to bowl the singles qualifier at the same location where our team was sent for Sectionals, but it's based on entry availability and Chicago and Tennessee have sold out in advance the last couple years. There is an outside chance that additional hotel and transportation might be available, but I won't know until after the entry deadline has passed, pick a location that you are prepared to get to on your own if necessary.
I'll keep a running list here, so make sure your name appears below if you wish to bowl. Thanks!
As of Friday, January 29, 2016, everyone listed above has been entered into the Intercollegiate Singles Qualifier at the location indicated. At some point in the future, a list of all entrants will show up on bowl.com at the following link. This is also where you will need to go to download your competition packet PRIOR to bowling. If you don't see your name above or on the bowl.com list in the future, let me know ASAP. Thanks
So, since the team was sent to Las Vegas, there won't be a team bus heading to Tennessee or Chicago. However, I am still going to try to get the school to provide transportation and one night's stay Thursday night. If it's done, transportation would depart Thursday afternoon, there would be a stay Thursday night, everyone bowls on Friday, and then transportation returns to campus Friday night. Since most of the people that signed up for Chicago are actually from the area, it probably doesn't make sense to set up transportation there, because if you took it, you'd leave Thursday and get back Friday. So, it appears that the most needed location for transportation would be Tennessee.
Please post on this forum or send me an email regarding your plans if this scenario plays out and if it doesn't. Otherwise, I'm assuming that you're planning to travel to the location listed. Thanks.
Sorry about all of this...didn't expect to be sent to Vegas...
As of 3 p.m CST, February 28, all requests to move locations for singles have been made. At this point, there are still openings at ALL four locations, so please double-check the appropriate list below to make sure you are signed up at the proper location. USBC Collegiate will open all locations for additional entries at 8 a.m. Monday morning, February 29. I don't think it will take very long for Chicago and Smyrna, Tenn. to fill up completely.
To those going to Addison and Smyrna for singles, I tried to set up some logistics for travel and hotel, but it's just not feasible.
You will be formally excused from classes from noon Thursday, March 10 through the day on Friday. I have printed hard copy excuse notes that you can take to your class instructors. There is a stack of them in Randy's office at the bowl, or I can print them out at my office for you.
If you are no longer planning to attend, please let me know.
Like a tier one tournament, the singles qualifier has a five ball limit for competition. Complete rules and the ability to print a ball card are available here.
Pay particular attention to rules 2a, b, and c, highlighted below when selecting a shirt to wear. If you decide to wear a Lindenwood competition shirt, make sure it has the Hammer and VISE logos on it screened or with patches.

To verify your location and registration please click on the correct division below. This information will be updated daily and will be noted at the top of the page.
Please click here to download a copy of the schedule and ball card. You will need to make sure to print a ball card and bring it with you.
Please make sure to review Rule 607 regarding the dress code for sectional participation. Specifically, the logo rules for the shirt worn in competition. Non-school logos are limited to 2X3 in size. If a shirt violates this rule you will be required to change your shirt. This rule includes compression sleeves.
This will also serve as a reminder to review the ISC Rules. All of these rules will be enforced at the sectionals and nationals. It is important to note that you must also be compliant with the uniform rules for this event.
Coaches: Please make sure all of your ISC participants are aware of the rules and bring a completed ball card with them to registration.
