that theres an ad for passion dot com (i think thats what it was anyway, it changed when i went to this make a post page) with a pic of a girl with BIG BARELY COVERED BOOBIES on top of my page....RIGHT ABOVE THE WORDS LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY...
tsk tsk tsk
if he finds out...this site will get shut down, visitation cancelled until 2011 at the earliest, the team will get all funding cut & most likely be disbanded, and we all have to write "I will not think about the opposite sex" 1,000,002 times along with our reinstatement letters, plus do extra work n learn in order to not be kicked out of school.
honestly theres nothing i can do about it because its a free service. the only way i can get rid of banners or the occassional pop-ups is if i purchase the domain. and i would do that if the school gave me the money. but i do not have the funds have physically purchase a domain... its quite a lot of money if you want a reliable service.
a good 99.99% up-time domain site + goodies should run you about $90-150 for a start-up fee & then an additional 40-90 a year depending how much space you require. so trust me when i say, I have looked into it.
sorry homies. :o(
btw.. i like that banner.

Me, I'm dishonest and an dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly, it's the hoenst ones you want to look out for becuase you never know when they're going to do something...incredibly.... stupid..- Jack Sparrow
Actually...$150 start-up and another $100 annually isn't all that bad, really. If we could get the domain start-up covered somehow, the annual fee would only break down to less than $2.50/person counting all our players and coaches (well, at least at the beginning of the year).
Hek! That amount is about the going rate for a large bottle of mountain spring water, mixed with a packet of Kool-Aid!
Hello, I just bought a domain from Dreamhost.com for 22.19 for the whole year. When it asked for a coupon code type BEST and it takes 97 dollars off the price when u pay the 22.19 all at once not a bad deal for the whole year. Chase might want to look in to it and if you can just help me get started but we can chat later. Just thought i would let you know.
thats pretty cool fred. im on dialup right now so its hard for me to get to websites without getting frustrated but if you could find out and let me know the following:
what is their "up-time"? (should be 99%, 99.9%, or 99.99%)
what is the amount of bandwidth allowed for the service you bought? (message boards eat away at bandwidth)
is there a ".com(.net,.org,etc)" fee yearly? & if so, how much? (i know you purchased the domain, but all i want to know is if that covers the url as well... you can purchase the domain but still be required to rent out a url)
ummm.... its like 4am & i hafta poo so if i think of any other questions ill post em later.
thanks for that info though, i'm def interested... not only for LU but for future endeavors.
chase
