wow i dont know what to say besides the fact that i lost all respect for mike machuga & that i actually wish he hurt himself when he did that stupid ass superman flop out on the lane.
Bill showed he was the classier guy, just like he always has been. No matter how successful he was in college, he was always amongst the nicest guys.
Hopefully this proves that hes not the average rookie to come out on tour & that this leads to more & more telecasts & endless titles.

Bill made great shots when he needed, just wasn't quite enough. He will be back on tv in short time.
As far as Machuga....that was ridiculous. I understand he was excited but give me a break. Act as if you've been there before and plan to get back.
Yes, Beef...they did say Machuga needed X X 2 to win, which really confused me because I knew all he needed was X X. I personally think ESPN needs to look at possibly getting new broadcasters. It's not the first time I've heard them make a mistake like that.
Anyways....Bill did great this week and I have no doubts he will be back on tv and winning titles in no time.

Yeah, I didn't know if that counted as a shot because the ball didn't leave his hand, but then they said it was a foul and I started celebrating, because I was thinking that gave Bill the chance to get up there and win by 2. And that would have been the most memorable telecast ever.

When they said it was a foul, that was another mistake they made on the telecast. I had hoped that they would know the rules a little better than they do. I suppose I expect too much though. It's not a foul if you hold on to the ball....while that is not a situation that arises very often (shouldn't EVER arise), it is not something most people would know.
Not trying to turn this into a rules thing, especially since it was moot in the end. I do think it's important to know the rules though. In response to the intentional foul....he did not in any way benefit from doing that, in which case there is no deliberate foul.
An example of where a deliberate foul would/could be called....
You are the anchor bowler on your team and are bowling for the championship. Your team needs a mark from you in the 10th frame to win the league title. You get up and throw a great shot, only to leave a blowout 7-10. You foul knowing you have a much better chance of throwing (in essence) a strike shot to convert the spare rather than trying to convert the 7-10. In this case you would benefit by having an easier spare chance....if the other team knew the rules well enough they could call a deliberate foul on you and you would get zero for the tenth frame.
That is the best of my understanding of that rule and if I am wrong please let me know. (It is rule 5b) I have been in a situation where this came up but nobody knew the exact rule which is why I looked it up. Even though it was too late to do anything about it that night (turns out the guy didn't spare anyway), I figured it might be a good thing to know just in case the situation ever came up again.
"After Machuga clinched the title match with two strikes in the 10th frame, he surprised everyone by doing his famous “Machuga Flop”, hanging onto the ball and flinging himself down the lane. Since he never let go of the ball, there was no official rules violation, so Machuga followed that by striking on his final shot."
Oh, sure! I would love to. I finished watching shows by Andy Yeatman last week and I have no idea what to do on the coming weekend. It was good to know about this though. I can invite my friends and cousins over and all of us can enjoy this new show.
