Must attend one of the two meetings and sign Student Athlete acknowledgement form and drug testing policy form. Failure to sign both by September 2nd means no competition or letter winner gifts.
Freshman Convocation
Wednesday, August 24th 4pm J. Schneidegger Center for Performing Arts
Required for Freshmen Experience class No food or drink allowed Reasonable dress
It has come to our attention that some of our freshmen are under the impression that the convocation scheduled for 4:00 today (8/24/11) has been cancelled. The convocation has NOT been cancelled and will occur as planned.
If you have freshmen in your classes, please mention the convocation. They are all required to attend.
The following have NOT signed the Student-Athlete Acknowledgement form and/or the Drug Testing policy form as of Monday afternoon, August 29th. If you don't sign the acknowledgement form, you won't be eligible for the Letter Winners program which qualifies you for athletic gifts (hoodie, backpack, fleece or blanket) at the end of the year. If you don't sign the Drug form, you won't be able to compete or practice.
This is required for anyone in the program, whether you plan to compete this year or not.
You can knock both of the forms out by attending the meeting at the Hyland Arena on Tuesday, August 30th at 8pm. This meeting will only take 15 minutes this year. See above post. If you are unable to make the meeting due to class or league or other conflict, you'll have to visit my office (Evans Commons 3110) after Tuesday, but by the end of the business day Friday, September 2nd to pick up your handbook and fill out the forms. You'll also have to answer (to the Student Life Sports Director) as to why you didn't attend one of the two meetings.
Either way, it's 15 minutes out of your life, so please get it done.
As of Friday, September 2nd, the following have NOT signed the Handbook Acknowledgement form, Champions of Character form and Drug Testing policy form, according to the SL Sports Director. These are required to compete and practice. The drug testing form is required whether you're an athlete or not. Stop by my office at Evans Commons 3110 and either speak with me or Tim, the director of Student Life Sports ASAP! The deadline was supposed to be TODAY. Thanks.
