Per the email below from the president, unless your team is out of town due to competition, everyone is expected to attend the Lou Brock ceremony Monday afternoon, April 18th. Practices are to be cancelled during the time of the ceremony (2pm until 4pm) so that ALL teams and available coaches (NCAA and SLS) will be present to assist Jane Baum. Jane has requested that the athletes report to the Brock Stadium by 2pm. At that time, she will give directions on where everyone needs be and how they can help. Due to many well recognized people from the Cardinals organization (past and present) being present, in addition to other high profile people, it is going to be very important that our teams create a type of barrier between these people and the general public. It is requested that teams wear something that is representative of your sport. Please tell the athletes to dress appropriately (other than team apparel). No flip flops, torn jeans, t-shirts, etc. This is an opportunity for us to show case Lindenwood and our athletic program. This event has been advertised in the newspaper, on TV and Radio, and word of mouth. We do expect a very large crowd. All the more reason we need to make sure we present ourselves in the best posture. And since our teams will be front and center, their appearance is very important. Thank you and your teams for their cooperation. It will be a great event with some high profile people participating (rumored Albert Pujols will be present and speaking).

Dear Mr. Creer,
Unless they are out of town for competition, all Lindenwood student-athletes are expected to attend the Lou Brock Statuary Dedication on Monday, April 18, dressed in clothing that best identifies them as members of one of the Lindenwood sports teams. Jane Baum wants everyone to meet at 2:00pm at the stadium to receive directions from her on where they need to be stationed for the presentation.
This is a very high priority event, and I am counting on the cooperation and assistance of all coaches and student-athletes.
Thank you for your leadership in this matter.
Sincerely,
James D. Evans President Lindenwood University
In our case, one of our black collared team shirts with the black or tan khaki pants would be OK to wear. I'll be there. Help me out.
Thanks! Find me first and then we'll find Jane Baum.
Thanks for your willingness Darla. While they want people there, if you have a class, you're off the hook as they don't want people skipping class for the event.
*There comes a moment when it's more than just a game, and you either take that step forward or turn around and walk away. I could quit, but here's the thing...I love the playing field.*
The ceremony actually starts at 3pm, so I'm not sure if anyone will be able to get to our location then or not. We're supposed to be a "buffer" between the dignitaries and general public and provide a nice Lindenwood visual for cameras and such.
