A message from the LU Administration regarding J-Term classes:
Please mention to the coaches that student athletes need to carefully consider which classes they choose for J-term. In the past, we have had many student register for a class only to decide after the first day that it isnt want they wanted. They then jump ship and enroll in a coaching or PE class. We WILL NOT honor those changes this year. The last day to enroll in a J-term class is December 27. We set the date at this time in order to allow students time to get their first days assignment completed and to purchase their books. Enrolling a student on the second day is doing them a disservice.
Also, the caps on the coaching and PE classes are solid. We will not run up the numbers as we have in the past. Such actions make classes appear less than academic and that is certainly not the message we want to send.
These policies apply to all students. Since many of our students are athletes, encouragement from their coaches to choose their classes wisely would be appreciated.
Thank you
A reminder that in order to be able to bowl during J-term, you must be enrolled in a J-term class. The J-term tournaments this year are the Hoinke Bearcat January 15-16, 2011 and the Blue and Gold January 22-23, 2011.
u mean j term isnt meant to be a blow off class?????

Also, make sure not to wait and take a Gen Ed during Jterm either...they have stopped offering a bunch of them in order for people to take them during the normal semester! So if you plan on taking one during Jterm, double check that it is offered.
