Heads up on selections for the cut; I''m looking for the best option to win in Milwaukee. That usually means a former A team bowler with experience (or near A teamer); however, I'm not going to reach too far down the list. Example, if the tryouts was over today, I would consider taking Jacob Setchell even though there are some other former A teams farther down.
On the top 45, Brandon Riley and Joey Petzoldt have been given injury exemptions. I made the assessment that they both would have made the 45 if given the chance.
Also, Anthony Foppe and Adam Czerniewski will be given injury exemption for Sunday. If they can average enough next weekend to be in the top 43 (Riley and Petzoldt take two spots), then they will make it even though they only bowled 27 and 24 games respectively. Foppe is averaging 164.45, Czerniewske 178.25
Since Chris Grimm no-showed, he can still bowl and make, but he would have 8 games of zero.

A reminder...anyone not making the final 45 man roster will NOT be cut from the bowling program.
In fact, the school will fund 14 weeks of bowling for you in the 4pm Tuesday afternoon sport shot league at St. Charles Lanes. In addition to practices, this will provide an opportunity for competition on conditions similar to what we see in tournaments and will help you improve.
We'll gather those individuals on the final Sunday of try-outs with more details as that league begins on Tuesday, September 14th.
There are over 70 bubble sheets to go through and it took me about 2 hours to pull out the raw data from a dozen of them. It's the equivalent of about two tournaments of data and some are very hard to read.
If those helping with stats bring their raw information to me Thursday night at practice and we all managed to pull the data the same way, I should have everything entered in the spreadsheet by Labor Day weekend.
It will include cumulative strike percentage, general spare percentage (including splits and washouts), split leave percentage, split conversions, single pins and overall relative fill percentage.
I should also have the ability to show individuals how they did on each of the two shots so far if they're interested, but I won't print that unless someone requests it to save trees (and ink).
