As someone just pointed out, Farish's finishes the last four Jr. Golds has been 4th, 5th, 15th and 5th. Now both the 5th's he was passed over from someone else.
It has to be said; is this the best team the Gold Coaches could put together or do they have an agenda? I find impossible to fathom that Daniel isn't one of the best 6 Jrs in the tournament and wouldn't be an asset in a National Team.

Randy I agree.. I've never agreed with the fact that the Gold Coaches get to pick the other 2 bowlers... It truly shows me that it's a popularity contest. I think the best way to choose without causing conflict is to pick the 5th and 6th place bowlers. They want to have the best team, but truly they're more concerned with having the more well-known bowlers on their team, than the good ones... I dunno, maybe I'm looking at it negatively, but I've felt this way last year and this year after JOG.
you mean the 2 that are supposed to get picked from the team usa trials thing?? ... if so, then no they haven't.. i think those that trials thing is sometime in december, so we wont find out who the other 4 bowlers will be for awhile... at least, that's what i've been told.
I wrote asking for peoples opinions on the matter if you would all like to go to the 2 forums i wrote on and contribute. this is what i posted with Daniels permission.
----------------- There are always debates after every team usa tryouts (adult or jr.) on whether or not people think they selected the correct people with their "at-large" picks. This year I think something needs to be said. This is regarding Daniel Farish. Yes he is a friend of mine and a teammate for college bowling but i am going to try to make my point as unbiased and statistical based as possible.
In the four years that Farish has bowled gold, He has proven himself to be one of the elite every year. Back when his run started in Indianapolis he came in 4th and made the team. The following year he came up short in 6th and was selected over. Next year he makes another run at it making the finals for a 3rd straight year and coming in 15th. This year he finishes his jr. career with a 5th place finish...again being picked over. He is now the only male bowler to make the finals 4 years in a row at Junior Olympic Gold and has an AVERAGE finish of 7.5. He has made this run right in the middle of all the changes of Jr. Gold as well, making it to the top in Indy when they were tough, and making it to the top this year in Michigan when they were a little easier...proving that he can grind out tough and score. His one year on Team USA he was given the chance to bowl 2 International tournaments with the USA logo on his back. In his TWO tournaments he brought back 7 MEDALS. 5 GOLD. 1 SILVER. and 1 BRONZE.
Now with all that said, I'd like to ask everyone to contribute whether you agree or disagree with myself. Do you as Bowlers really think your at large picks are going to the correct people? or just the most politically correct people? (please note this is not a stab at Bowers or Mizo because I have bowled with them both in Jr. bowling and they are both very talented)

Council, I don't know if you saw it or not, but I replied to your post on the college bowling forum.. I'm very happy you posted that topic because I've always disagreed with how the other bowlers are picked and I disagree that they've passed over Daniel so many times. It just doesn't make sense.
ty for the support jenny...im sure daniel feels the same way.
