Sunday, September 6 @ 9 a.m. Pattern: Montreal (41 feet)
Monday, September 7 (Labor Day) @ 1p.m. Pattern: US Open (length 40-42 feet)
This scenario allows us to use the bowling center on days that aren't as busy, and we will have four weeks of practice before the first event of the season. FYI, there will be NO Summer Team Trials this year, so that won't be a conflict.
NOTE: The graphs for most of these patterns can be found online with a quick search, but the Lion's Classic was created by us. See the attached image for that graph.

Since it appears that everyone is looking at this thread more than any, I'll post a few reminders here for the start of the season:
1) ALL players need to attend the mandatory medical/insurance meeting time at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25 in Hyland Arena (at the AT office). This is when all of your paperwork and medical file will be confirmed so you are cleared to practice and compete for the season. If you can't go then, you're on your own to catch up with Ciara, our A.T. for this process. She's usually only available in the mornings. Officially, you're supposed to be cleared BEFORE you can practice or tryout.
2) If you are in need of a physical, the time for bowlers is now Wednesday, August 26 at 3 p.m. at the Hyland Arena. The cost will be $15. Arrive early because you can expect a line.
3) The tryout fee for this season will be $50 once again. If you do not have our Giant Lion jersey, you will need to order one for $65. This jersey will be ordered for you whether you make the travel roster or not. Logistically, we don't have the time to wait until after tryouts. Cash or checks (written to St. Charles Lanes) can be collected at our organizational meeting on Monday, August 24. If you wish to cover the tryout/shirt fees by credit card, that can only be done at St. Charles Lanes August 25-28.
4) Open practice sessions with the patterns being used for tryouts will generally be M-F after 3 p.m. The bowling center isn't open that early on Thursday, so you'll have to access the center via the side door to the bar.
5) Organizational Meetings August 24. You must attend one of the two team organizational meetings, either at 3:45 p.m. that day or 6:30 p.m., in the Leadership Room at Spellmann Center (top floor). When you arrive, be prepared to fill out several forms and other paperwork for the season (bring a pen in other words) Be prepared to provide your USBC Sanction number and the type of sanction you wish to have for the season (junior or adult) Be prepared to provide your finger insert/thumb slug sizes (samples will be on hand) Be prepared to provide shirt, skort, pants, jacket, sweat sizes.
6) Our new University president seems keen on athletic programs doing fundraisers, so be prepared to provide five (5) or more businesses or individuals that might be interested in donating a few dollars to our program. Our development department will send a nice letter to everyone that you list.
Sorry for all the reminders, but I'm looking forward to getting things going as smoothly as possible. I am excited about the upcoming season!
