Each year for the past several, the school has paid an entry into the Intercollegiate Singles Qualifier tournament for anyone eligible wanting to bowl it the day before Sectionals. This year, the date is Friday, March 13, 2015 and the four Sectional locations include:
Stratford, New Jersey (14.5 hours) 30 Strikes 501 S White Horse Pike Stratford, NJ 08084 856-291-6383 (Center)
Fort Worth, Texas (10.75 hours) Cityview Lanes 6601 Oakmont Blvd Fort Worth, TX 76132 817-346-0444 (Center)
Addison, Illinois (5 hours) Stardust Bowl of Addison 37 E Lorraine Ave. Addison, IL 60101 630-833-1040 (Center)
If you would like to bowl the Singles Qualifier, please let me know by January 20, 2015 and your preferred location. I'll keep a running list on this thread.
The school has generally NOT provided transportation to the event in the past, but last year, those wanting to travel to the same site as the team were able to catch a ride on the team bus, but had to cover the cost of hotel. However, since we could be sent to any of the four sites, don't sign up if you're not at least prepared to travel on your own to the location of your choice. Also, if you do sign up, please show up for the event. If you are a "no-show" without cancelling ahead of time, you'll owe cost of the entry. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
We are headed to Tennessee for Sectionals, so I am submitting a request to move everyone that specifically requested to travel on the team bus to that location. If you don't have (bus) next to your name, I didn't get a specific request from you, so I haven't requested a site change.
I was informed last week that the Smyrna, Tennessee location was close to being sold out, so I don't know if we're going to be able to move everyone that wants to go that direction. I'll know more later this week.
Please make sure your ISC participants download a copy of the packet and bring a ball card with them to the event. A copy of the packet can be downloaded here.
As of February 21, the Smyrna, TN location is full and I can't move anymore people unless some spots open up. Those with (TN) next to their name were successfully moved or were originally signed up for that location. The USBC Collegiate is supposed to notify me if any more openings become available in Tennessee.
REMINDERS-if you were entered, but are now unable to bowl singles for some reason, please let me know.
Thank you for your entry into the XBowling Intercollegiate Singles Qualifying Tournament. Please refer to the enclosed tournament schedule for squad times, hotel information and tournament manager contact information.
You will need to make sure to print a ball card and bring it with you. This is also a reminder that you must meet all of the academic eligibility requirements to compete. Please make sure to review Rule 607 regarding the dress code for sectional participation. Specifically, the logo rules for the shirt worn in competition. Non-school logos are limited to 2X3 in size. If a shirt violates this rule you will be required to change your shirt. This rule includes compression sleeves.
Bowlers at each of the four sectional events will bowl six games of singles competition with total pinfall determining the advancers. 24 men and 16 women the top four men and top four women at each sectional along with eight at-large selections from the mens field will advance to the XBowling Intercollegiate Singles Championships.
330p: Women's Intercollegiate Singles Qualifier-Six Games (top 4 advance)
YOU ARE LIMITED TO FIVE (5) BOWLING BALLS, SO YOU MUST SUBMIT A BALL CARD BEFORE COMPETITION. USBC-Collegiate attire rules apply. Pay attention to collars that are allowed, only FOUR sponsor logos are allowed and they all have to be 3x2 or smaller. If they are too big, you will be asked to change or cover the logo!!!
Let Phil know if you are signed up to compete in singles, but now are no longer able!! Do NOT just no-show. Thanks.
