Men's Championship Rings

We've worked it out so that each men's player and coach that traveled to Reno will receive a 10K gold ring from the USBC-Collegiate paid by the university.

EVERY men's player in school on the 2013-14 travel roster will receive the exact same ring in siladium.  In addition to siladium and 10K gold, the ring is also available in 14K gold.  Anyone receiving a ring may upgrade it, but would have to pay for the upgrade cost out-of-pocket.

The USBC-Collegiate has a deadline date for us to order these rings, so please determine your ring size first (sizing template is available at the bowl or any jewelry store can help) and if you wish to upgrade your ring, you must provide a check written to Lindenwood University and given to me for the amount of the upgrade NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, MAY 8, 2014!

Each person will also need to complete a form by May 8 as well indicating ring size, but I am out of the office until Monday, May 5, so plan on doing everything next week from May 5-8.

Email or text me with any questions!
Phil

PS-Women's rings for the Carlson Cup will have to be designed through a ring company, so we won't know any options or availability until that process is completed, so stay tuned.

The Gold was determined by my top 12 at the end of the season.  It was important to me that everyone who was a member of the Travel Squad got a ring.  The tryouts should stand for being counted as a team member.  This goes back to the meeting after tryouts where we handed out the shirts.  We are not a 5-man team or an 8-man team; we are a 25 man team!

The University is being very generous.  The year we won in 2005, we only got 9 rings, and the team voted to split the cost of getting a tenth ring for Asst Coach Dre Parker.

That is really awesome for you guys! Congratulations!

Phil, for the women's rings, if the school is not willing to cover them for everyone, would we be able to cover them ourselves if we want to pay for it out of our own pocket? I just think it'd be really cool if we could get some kind of deal like that for the women's side since so many of us bowled on varsity this year and even those girls who didn't, it's like Randy said, it's a 25-man team, well, 25-woman team :) lol

Once the women's ring is designed, we know production options and the budget the school is giving us, we'll cross that bridge.  My hope is that we will have some flexibility, but we'll have to take things one step at a time.

I just wanted to add from the school perspective while winning the Club Championship is awesome and fantastic, it would not directly correlate to winning the ITC.
I don't think we should expect the school to fund the rings at the same level as they did for Reno.

I would think that the ring company would want to produce as many rings as possible since that's more money in their pocket. Lol :)

I know companies like Jostens that do class rings keep the molds around forever in case you lose your ring or have it stolen or something so you can reorder, so I wouldn't think the mold would be an issue either.

And I didn't really expect the school to cover all of the expenses on the women's side (although it would be very nice if they did or at least like 25% or 50%). I just think it would be great at the very least to have the option to purchase our own out of pocket or fundraise to cover the costs.
